Drumconrath Parish Bulletin

2nd January, 2011.

Second Sunday after Christmas

The lights of Christmas are beginning to fade. But the mystery of Christ's presence among us remains. Today's Gospel reminds us of this: 'The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us ... From his fullness we have received.'

Let us draw close to Christ so that he may enrich us from his abundance.

First Reading:

This is a poem in praise of divine wisdom, a wisdom that has made her dwelling among God's people.

Second Reading:

This reading introduces the theme of God's plan of salvation, a plan which is centred in Christ and realised through him.

Gospel:

This is a great hymn to the Word of God, the source of all life, whose coming among us makes us children of God.
