Second Sunday of Easter: Divine Mercy Sunday

In today's Gospel we meet Doubting Thomas.

Each of us has something in common with Doubting Thomas, because at times we too are troubled by doubts. Instead of denying our doubts, let us bring them to the Lord. In his love for us, the Lord helps us to turn our doubts into faith.

First Reading:

The early Christian community was characterised by worship of God and loving service towards one another.

Second Reading:

Faith in the resurrection of Jesus is the basis of our hope of eternal life, a hope which enables us to bear patiently the trials of life.

Gospel:

When he touched the wounds of the risen Jesus, Thomas' doubt was turned into faith.
